At Labsmith, raising English Labradors is a commitment to quality, health, and temperament. We are a small, family-based breeder located on five peaceful acres along Big Gum Lake, where our dogs are raised as part of our daily lives. Our Labradors grow up with room to explore, and constant human interaction. Our dogs are raised with intention, structure, and love. This balanced upbringing plays a key role in developing the steady temperament and confidence that English Labradors are known for.  We offer AKC limited (pet-only) registration English Labrador Retriever puppies in black, and yellow.  Some of our yellows are very light, almost white.  Chocolate to come soon!!  Our breeding program is carefully planned and intentionally small, with only a limited number of litters each year. This allows us to focus on each puppy individually, providing hands on care, early socialization, and thoughtful exposure to everyday sights, sounds, and experiences.

 

Health and longevity are the foundation of the Labsmith program. Our parent dogs come from generations of carefully selected, healthy Labradors with clean DNA and proven lines. All breeding dogs are OFA CHICK Certified.  They have OFA certified hips and elbows, OFA eyes, along with DNA clearances of:

• Retinal Dysplasia/Oculoskeletal Dysplasia (RD/OD)

• Progressive Retinal Atrophy, Progressive Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRCD)

• Skeletal Dysplasia (SD)

• Hereditary Nasal Parakeratosis (HNPK)

• Exercise-Induced Collapse (EIC)

• Centronuclear Myopathy (CNM)

• Degenerative Myelopathy (DM)

• Dilute Free

 

We incorporate Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) into our puppy-raising program to support confident, well-adjusted development. ENS is a gentle, age-appropriate process performed during the first days of life that introduces mild, controlled stimuli to help strengthen neurological responses. This early exposure can contribute to improved resilience, adaptability, and stress tolerance as puppies mature. ENS is just one of the intentional ways we invest in our puppies during their critical early weeks, giving them a strong foundation for lifelong health and stability.  We also practice Early Scent Introduction (ESI), which exposes puppies to new scents during a critical developmental window. This helps build confidence, curiosity, and stronger scent recognition skills

 

We breed with the future in mind, prioritizing structure, wellness, and temperament so our puppies can thrive as lifelong companions. We are proud of our strong English Labrador pedigrees and are dedicated to breeding to the AKC standard. Our goal is not only to produce beautiful Labradors, but to continually strengthen our lines through responsible, ethical breeding choices. Each pairing is selected with care to improve the breed and maintain the classic English Labrador look and demeanor.  Nutrition and daily care are treated with the same level of intention. Our dogs are fed a high quality diet, and our puppies receive that same nutritional foundation during their critical early weeks of development.

 

At Labsmith, we believe bringing home a puppy should be a joyful and transparent experience. Families are able to follow their puppy’s journey through regular photos, videos, and updates, getting to know their puppy’s personality long before pickup day arrives. We value open communication and lasting relationships with the families who trust us.  Each Labsmith puppy goes home with AKC limited registration, multiple de-wormings, age appropriate vaccinations, and a full health examination by a licensed veterinarian with health certificate. Puppies also leave with health records, a familiar comfort blanket, food for a smooth transition, toys, and an informative puppy packet to support your first days at home. While we don't allow our puppies to be shipped out alone we can meet you at the airport to hand deliver your new baby to you. We also offer a lap nanny service who will fly with your baby to ensure they are safe and well loved during the journey.  A lap nanny can also meet you closer to your location if you prefer to drive.  We have puppies living all over the United States, and so far one living internationally in Belize.
